Transportation
Inside the city of La Plata there are 12 bus lines, four of which are municipal, seven provincial and one national line. The so-called micros are color coded by the zone of the city they move in (north is blue, south is green, east is yellow, west is red and downtown is gray) and numbered depending on whether they drive through, outside of or between zones. Each bus stop is also given the color and a list of the numbers on buses stopping there. Fares during the day are $0.75 for riding only in one section and $1.20 if you are going on two or more sections. The night buses run from 11pm until 3am and cost $1.15. Taxis are also available all throughout the city and there are two car rental companies, though one can find a much larger selection in Buenos Aires.
