Climate & Geography, Festival

By Lorena Fernández

Located on the humid pampa, La Plata has a tropical feel, specially in the summer. Temperatures average at 17°C year-round and the annual precipitations are calculated around 1023 mm. With Río de la Plata at the edge of the city, humidity averages at 77,6 percent, and strong winds from the southeast blow in four times a year. La Plata is an eventful city, where one can always find something to do, however, it is particularly festive around November, when they celebrate the city’s anniversary – November 19 – and the La Plata Jazz Festival gathers musicians from all over the world in a non-profit effort to educate new generations on the art form.
