If you haven't guessed it yet, the Basilica is Luján's numero uno attraction. But for those bored by "just another church," non-religious options abound. The museum complex in Plaza Belgrano gives insight into colonial history, gaucho culture, and a vast collection of Argentine art. If fresh air is more your speed, head to the river for paddle-boating, parrillas and rides, or to the zoo, just outside city center, where free-roaming animals give a closer encounter than the Buenos Aires equivalent. For a people "zoo" head to Calle San Martín where people-watching and window shopping abound, complete with everything from dollar store extravaganzas to the traditional holy objects. Nightlife isn't big, but the jazz club on Francia is open on weekends.
