Ten blocks west of the Plaza, this huge lagoon and park stretches over 500 hectares and is the locals’ choice spot for playing sports, anything from water-skiing to volleyball. Outdoor playthings and island fortresses, including a bright pink princess castle, make the Laguna a popular destination for kids. A smooth path winds around the outside of the lagoon, ideal for cycling or stretching your legs after a long bus journey.

Amenities include various restaurants and a campsite with excellent facilities. Little shade is found in the park, especially at the waters edge. Bring sunscreen, a hat and repellent if planning on camping for the night.
