Buenos Aires is a great city, but there are some challenges with studying there. There are a lot of language schools available, but quality varies widely and price does not reflect quality.

Some schools will charge the same prices, or more, than you'd pay for the same service at home. The biggest problem though is that others studying at these schools weren't learning anything.

I was recommended a small institute called Interhispanica which was run by a group of local young professors teaching classes at the University of Buenos Aires. It's an institute in a nice building in central Buenos Aires, in Recoleta. The teachers and everyone there were a super friendly group of people, very knowledgeable and great teachers. They really knew their stuff, and because they all had incredibly strong academic backgrounds, they were able to teach classes in subjects like Argentine politics and literature - so it wasn't just grammar exercies, you learned other things at the same time you were studying the language. The school also did cultural outings to local tango milongas, things like that, which helps students to discover the city.
