Getting around Types:
Getting around, Guidebook
Buenos Aires, like any big city, can seem a bit overwhelming at first. Buses charge past you left, right and center. So often there's no way to know where they go, so many choose to opt for the Subte (subway) to explore the city.
However, the Subte has only six lines currently running, so where it can take you is limited. If you want to get to somewhere on your map that is not near a Subte stop, you will either have to fork out for a taxi or take a bus.
To make the experience easier, buy yourself a 'Guia T' guide as soon as you can find one. It is a small, convenient guide book that details all the bus routes in the city, as well as providing emergency numbers and other useful listings. At only $1 US, it will save you a lot of time and energy getting around, and can be found at many newsstands, as well as from vendors on the Subte.
