La Cabrera

Location:
Cabrera 5099 (corner with Thames)
Palermo Viejo, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Restaurant

By Caroline Bennett

It’s a wild claim to make in these parts, but undeniable that La Cabrera is one of the best bets for a traditional parrilla and some of the most succulent steak in town. Huge portions of house specialties like “bife de chorizo” and “tira de asado” are full of flavor and garnished with complimentary tasty sides and sauces. Lines of hungry porteños and foreigners alike pour out the door, but complimentary champagne and nibbles make for a pleasant wait. Homemade and heaping pasta dishes (some vegetarian) and beef alternatives are not simply last minute menu additions, as is often found at other local spots. Exceptionally friendly wait staff, outdoor seating, and the extra steps taken at this place make it highly recommendable.
