A new hang out for jet-setters from around the world, this Philippe Starck designed hotel is quickly becoming a symbol of ‘the new Argentina’. Set in an impeccably restored grain warehouse built in the early 1900s, lush interiors combine with endless perks, including a state-of-the-art spa and infinity edge pool, to create a world of sensual luxuries. If the price per night is a bit of a shock, try an evening out. El Cabaret, a stage space with a bar and an abundance of red velvet, attracts some of the city’s best musical and theatrical talent. Two restaurants, one offering traditional Argentine fare and the other gourmet dishes, are open to the public, as is the café, where quality jazz musicians often play. Nothing is cheap at the Faena, expect to pay at least AR$100 to see a show, but for those inclined to rub shoulders with the rich and famous while taking in top notch cultural events, it's the place to go.
