Rodi Bar specializes in one thing: cheap eats in the heart of Recoleta. One of those famed institutions where local folks and expats gather in harmony to hang out and eat good home cooking, Rodi Bar offers ungarnished and plentiful meals classic porteña resto-bar style. The wait staff, who could all be straight off the set of Grumpy Old Men, provide good service, and the dining room is filled with bright lights and paper-covered tables shoved together. The menu offers a good mixture of regional cuisine from Spain and Argentina. Parrilla (grilled meat), milanesas (breaded and pan-fried thin sliced steak ), Pulpo a Gallega (octopus in tomato and pepper sauce), local fish and pastas are some of the options. The wine list is lengthy, with many affordable wines, and dessert is a must.
