The airy, tranquil Hotel Bolivar is a pleasant retreat from the busy streets of San Telmo. A former private home, the hotel has an inviting shabby-chic interior—the chipping paint of its cheery yellow walls is all part of the charm. Rooms are sparsely decorated but clean and spacious, and the affordable prices make them all the more appealing. The shared bathrooms are clean but the one downstairs lacks a shower door or curtain. Ask for a room upstairs, where the bathroom is newly remodeled and two rooms have balconies. Downstairs, rooms open out onto a cool, open-air patio where guests socialize.
