You can't visit Buenos Aires without making an afternoon pilgrimage to the La Boca barrio and its best-known street. It's certainly the city's most colorful walkway, both literally and figuratively. Multi-hued zinc buildings, restaurants serving up pricey grub and staging modest tango performances, and stores selling local bric-a-brac line El Caminito ("little road"). The tourists and peddlers that over-populate these traffic-free blocks may test your patience. If you prefer your lunch with a side of tango or want to browse for souvenirs, this is the place to go.
