Avenida Báez is the heart of the restaurant scene in Las Cañitas, with lots of stylish sushi and upmarket parillas. Dress to impress even if you’re just eating pizza, and in warm weather, grab a seat outside for some interesting people watching. Prices here are a little higher than in other parts of the city – expect to pay about AR$150 for dinner for two with wine. And afterward, sip a digestif at one of the fabulous cocktail bars nearby.
Nightlife
If you’ve brought stilettos or a silk tie, then Las Cañitas is the place to wear them. Most late-night places (that’s everywhere, as no one heads out before midnight) are sleek and stylish, and definitely not easy on the wallet. But don’t worry if you’re a chilled-out traveler; hunt around a little and you’ll find an American sports bar, a dimly-lit Dutch pub and some funky soul beats and beanbags. Stick to the area around Avenida Báez for the best selection.
