For the serious shopper in the family, head to the Galerías Pacíficos shopping mall. No funky Argentine souvenirs here; high-end stores line the three marble floored stories. Under vaulted glass ceilings can be found Tiffany, Christian Dior, Hugo Boss, LaCoste, Tommy Hilfiger, L´Occtane and Timberland, among dozens of others. A food court is on the lower level; on the top level can be found the Centro Cultural Borges, featuring art exhibits.

The Galería actively works to draw tourists to its stores. Tourists can buy tax-free at many Galería stores and purchases will be delivered to their hotel for free. At the tourist information booth, visitors receive a rewards card, which gives them one point for each peso spent. Points can be exchanged for rewards ranging from coffee and gift certificates to tango shows and hotel stays.

The Galería also offers tours of its century-old building, which features an enormous mural dome painted in 1945 by painters Spilimbergo, Urruchúa, Colmiero, Castagnino and Berni. Tours run Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and if you come at a different time you can pick up an Mp3 player to guide you through the history.
