This beautiful 404-hectare (1,000-ac) park, also known as the Bosques de Palermo (woods of Palermo), is a heavenly slice of green for all temporary and permanent porteños to enjoy in the big city. Known for its many paths, groves, lakes, and gardens, including the wonderfully peaceful Japanese Garden and the fragrant and lovely Rose Garden (El Rosedal), home to thousands of rose bushes, this massive park is a great way to get away without leaving the city. Just be sure to take your allergy medicine.
Bike rentals and paddle boats are available during the warmer months, and both running and biking trails make it a wonderful place for a workout, especially during the weekends when traffic is shut down along the ring of paths surrounding the park.
