Although most book stores in BA have a small section for English-language readers, the selection is often limited to a couple romance novels and, if you’re lucky, some Henry James, so if you run out of reading material while in the city, Walrus Books is a savior. In the beautiful home of a U.S. American/Argentine couple, Walrus’ surprising selection of books runs the gamut: from modern classics to Latin American works in translation to the latest scathing critique of the Bush family. Most of the books are used but in good shape, and the prices are reasonable, ranging anywhere from AR$5-50/US$2-16. Taking in your old books is an option, but because of limited space and strict quality control, don’t be surprised if they don’t buy everything you have.
