Palermo is trendy and trendsetting, classic and modern all at once. Restaurants in the area tend to follow suit, including sushi to vegetarian and the ubiquitous parrilla, you should be able to find all varieties of gastronomical delights here. Plenty of sit-down restaurants are concentrated in the blocks surrounding Plaza Serrano, though eating in the plaza itself can be reserved for late night grub. Across the tracks, restaurants in Palermo Hollywood are more spread out. Many places don’t take credit cards, so plan accordingly.
Palermo is perhaps the most active of Buenos Aires’ neighborhoods at night. There's something to do at almost every hour. In addition to some of the city’s best and biggest nightclubs, bars and music venues abound throughout the area. Wander from Plaza Serrano for a sure-fire nightlife, but wherever you are, get there fashionably late (clubs get going at 2 a.m.) and don’t be surprised if the sun’s up when you finally leave.
