Look around. So many huge, contemporary buildings surrounded by jammed traffic. This could be Anywhere, U.S.A. Clearly, you're not in Buenos Aires anymore. Oh, but you are! There's no shortage of hotel options in the Puerto Madero area--the Sheraton and the Hilton are among the most popular, the Faena Hotel + Universe perhaps the most opulent--and although they lack the local flavor and funky charm of the smaller boutique hotels in other parts of the city, at least you're practically guaranteed the option of a Rio Plata view. Not that it matters to the target clientele: business travelers who are in town for only a few days and would rather make their money and run than rub shoulders with porteños (who, in general, stay away from the area in droves) while exploring the BA where people actually live.
