The Shamrock

A large room with a long bar that lines one wall, The Shamrock attracts foreigners and locals alike. A good happy hour, with two-for-one beers and drink specials, makes it a popular after-work stop. There are tables, but many stand or circulate about. At night, it's packed to the hilt with beautiful people. Later in the evening, the pick-up vibe can be a bit too much, so if you're not interested in playing the BA game of flirting and staring, clear out before 11 p.m. There is also a club in the basement where DJs spin electronic music and people dance beneath a massive disco ball.

Traveler Reviews of The Shamrock

Shamrock

This is a popular bar in Recoleta known for it's Happy Hour (After Office). I frequented this bar many, many years ago, it has seen better days and suffers from heavy wear'n'tear. The 2 for 1 beers during Happy Hour is a good deal, but the selection is limited. Since the smoking ban went into effect, large groups gather on the side walk in front to grab a smoke and chat. Music is loud and the place has an odor of insecticide. The staff is efficient and friendly, aside from the typical stern-faced security at the entry. Good place to grab a drink early before heading out for the night. Mixed crowd, did not try the food and the basement was closed on my last visit. Cover charge to enter. Suerte
