Money
The majority of banks are on Avenida Las Heras or Avenida Callao, including HSBC (Callao and Vicente Lopez) and Citibank (Callao and Alvear). Banks are usually open Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings. Be sure to take out cash prior to weekends and holidays as they often run out.
Currency and traveler’s checks can be exchanged at Maguitur, Avenida Callao 1662 (between Guido and Lopez), closed Sunday.
Keeping in Touch
A small Post Office is at Avenida Callao 1581 (by Vicente Lopez), closed Sunday.
Telefónica locutorio on Vicente Lopez (by Callao) provides phone and internet services. Many cafés also have free WiFi but don’t rely on it.
Medical
Hospital Rivadavia is at Avenida Las Heras 2670 (by Austria), and there is a children’s hospital at Sanchez de Bustamante 1399 (by Paraguay).
Many pharmacies can be found on Avenida Las Heras or Avenida Callao including Farmacity (corner Callao and Lopez).
Laundry
Most hotels can do laundry, but if you’re on a budget go self-service at Lavaya (Peña 2511, by Pueyrredón).
