Museo Nacional Del Teatro - Museum Buenos Aires - Argentina

Through a corner entrance to the Teatro Nacional Cervantes and up a staircase adorned with old theater posters and signs, is the small, slightly crowded Museo Nacional del Teatro (National Museum of the Theater). The museum shows the evolution of Argentine theater. Highlights include old photographs of famous Argentine stage actors, the gaucho suit worn by tango legend Carlos Gardel in his film, El Día Que Me Quieras, and the bandoneón belonging to Paquita Bernardo, the first Argentine woman to play this accordion-like instrument. It’s a little hokey, but when hokey doesn´t cost you anything–why not?
