Ostinatto Hostel - Hostel Buenos Aires - Argentina

The Ostinatto, conveniently located in San Telmo, is a clean, friendly hostel catering to the backpacker crowd. There are several dorm-style rooms, each of which has a small locker for your stuff (bring your own lock). Bathrooms are busy–one shower per approximately 10 beds–but clean.

The Ostinatto is well-known in budget travel circles, and tends to fill up, so you’ll want to book ahead. It is usually full of 20-something backpackers from Europe and North America, and you’ll get to know them in the dorm rooms and at the breakfast table. Breakfast is included: pastries, fruit and coffee are set out by the staff, but be warned that if you sleep in there won’t be much of anything left.

The friendly owner occasionally organizes cookouts/parties on the top floor, so be sure to ask if there’s something going on. The desk staff members are also friendly and helpful if you have any questions about Buenos Aires. There is a yoga room on one of the upper floors: check the front desk for hours.
