Dinner and a movie? Been there, done that. How about fine dining and tango in a 140-year-old house in Monserrat? El Querandí is one of many spots in BA where you can enjoy the top-three Argentine indulgences—steak, wine and tango—in one sitting. But the quaint, vintage feel of the historic 18th-century home of El Querandí distinguishes it from the anonymous, modern song-and-dance restaurants in Puerto Madero and the slightly worn San Telmo dives that also offer tango with your meal. The elaborate history-based shows at El Querandí are more dinner theater than Broadway musical, but don't plan to arrive much later than the dinner starting time, as you'll risk not getting a good table. If you're more in the mood for contemporary romantic ambience without the spectacle, there's the sister wine bar, La Cava de El Querandí, next door. Lunch: Mondays to Fridays, noon to 4 p.m., Dinner: Daily, 8 p.m., Show: 10:15 p.m.
