Gibraltar

One of the most popular watering holes for travelers, expats, and locals friendly with the international community, Gibraltar has become a San Telmo fixture seemingly as permanent as the rock it was named after. Draught beers in pint glasses, not often found in Buenos Aires, cost $2; the drinks are strong, the staff friendly, and there is always someone to chat with. Food is also good, ranging from delicious Thai dishes to decent hamburgers. In the back is a small room with a pool table and a tabletop Ms. Pacman. A genuine pub atmosphere makes it a perfect place to start the evening, and sometimes the energy carries it through until the early morning.

HEY

I really really like this pub so much, its not easy as a black African woman living Buenos Aires to be socially accepted with no doubts,or unwelcoming faces, but this is one place where I go to and feel as though I am back in Africa.People see you beyond colour and just are fun to be with and times seems to fly so fast when I am there.

It is my favourite spot in Buenos Aires, for thier food and night sessions-I however feel they could do more,in terms of music and maybe make use of the upper area, just to make more room for people, its a lovely place ,no doubt and more room would be useful...................

The BEST bar in the world

I love everything about this bar: staff, food, beer, pacman. I just hope I can make it back one day.

Poor service

We wanted to eat and have a drink, but they were not interested in finding us a table to eat. When we asked for two beers they said they couldn't make any change for 100 pesos. The staff was very rude. I would never recomend this place.

one of my favorites

Gibraltar is one of my favorite bars in Buenos Aires. Great atmosphere, bar staff friendly, always interesting people to meet and have a pint with. Good place to go and relax any day of the week.

Nice place, bad service

You first notice this is a nice and beautiful bar, in an average location, with a nice ambience. But it's a little bit difficult to find free tables, and the lady who attend us was quite rude. The drinks and the food were average (it would be great to see more Argentine food).

YAY! I love this place!

I LOVE GIBRALTAR!!! This is my favorite bar in South America. The atmosphere is awesome, the people are awesome (expats, locals, and employees!)... Unfortunately the problem is that once you come here you may never want to leave the city and go back home.
