Located on the corner of an otherwise quiet street in Villa Crespo, Sarkis offers locals a large space for indulging in satisfying Middle Eastern food while making customers feel like they’re right at home. Inside the yellow walls of this popular family-style restaurant, one can choose from a list of mezes (such as hummus, tabule and “pollo a la libanesaa”) or larger courses (such as mousaka, or your choice of meat “a la parrilla”). The service is quick and attentive, and customers are treated like distant relatives by the friendly staff. While the food won’t blow your socks off, the family-friendly environment will make you feel comfortable enough to take them off yourself (but don’t!). Sarkis is as good of a Middle Eastern meal as one can get (for the price) in Argentina. Be forewarned: if you come for dinner, be prepared for a loud atmosphere. Midday, things are much calmer.
