The Uruguay river has a mild current that lends itself to practicing swimming and other aquatic sports popular in the beaches of Colón. Along the coast there are businesses where one can rent equipment for kayaking, surfing, rowing, windsurfing and sailing. The calm water is great for beginners and makes the river a destination of its own to enjoy the good weather of Colón. Be sure to check the equipment you get is in good conditions and ask around for prices before deciding what to rent.
