A good place for a newcomer to Córdoba to soak up some local culture is the Paseo del Buen Pastor, a historic performance center. It regularly showcases art, music and theater; check the local newspaper, La Voz del Interior, for details on what's going on. Another historic site that shouldn't be missed is the Iglesia Catedral, an ornate hodge-podge of different architectural styles that date back to 1577. If culture and history isn't your thing, you can lounge in the lovely, spacious Saramiento Park or take a stroll down Avenida Las Heras, which is packed with restaurants, bars and shops of varying prices and quality.
