If you can plan ahead a few weeks, a great and cheap way to travel to Córdoba is by train. Trains leave from Córdoba Sunday and Wednesday in the direction of Buenos Aires (Retiro), and Monday and Thursday from Buenos Aires to Córdoba. A train ticket is substantially cheaper than a bus ticket, costing between $8.50 and $16 depending on what class you purchase. The journey takes three more hours than a bus and other stops along the way include Villa Maria, Cañada de Gomez and Rosario. The train station in Córdoba (Tel. 03514263565) is located right next to the bus station. Because of limited travel times, space fills up fast and booking two weeks in advance in recommended.
The Terminal de Omnibus (Bv. Perón 380, Tel. 03514252854) is located about eight blocks from downtown and doesn´t get service by local buses. A Taxi or Remis will cost about $1 to $2. To make the journey on foot, head straight out of the terminal on Calle Corrientes and keep heading straight for 8 blocks where you will find Calle Obispo Trejo. Here you can take a right to head to the historic heart of the city with its foot malls and colonial architecture, or take a left and head to the youthful student district.
The airport (Cno. A Pajas Blancas Km. 11, Tel.# 03514341692) is a bit out of town to the north and serves both national and international destinations.
