Córdoba´s bustling nightlife has a number of centers. Weekends are definitely completely insane, but don´t worry, if you want to go out on a ¨school night¨ the students seem well acustomed to late nights every night and action can be found Lunes a Lunes (Monday to Monday). The student district has the largest concentration of bars and a stroll through Nueva Córdoba´s ¨University City¨ will bring you in contact with plenty of swinging nightlife. The heart of the student bar district is enclosed within a triangle of three streets, Hipolito Yrigoyen to the west, Rondeau to the north and Avenida Poeta Lugones roughly to the south. Within this area it is just a matter of picking a spot which has a free table or jammin tune on the sound system. Calle Hipolito Yrigoyen is particularly popular.

El Cañada (the Canal) has another popular concentration of bars. Staring on the corner of San Juan and Belgrano the strip stretches down the canal for a few blocks and is stuffed full of popular establishments. Morrison Club (M.T. de Alvear 380) is a popular place to get started. It plays plenty of homage to its namesake Jim Morrison so expect lots of Doors tracks and classic rock. El Cañada has a lively feel and most of the action happens outside in sidewalk patios.

When you are done socializing over beers in the student district or El Cañada, head towards Zona Abasto where most of the ¨Boliches¨ (dance clubs) can be found. Located across the river from Viejo Córdoba but is still easily accessible on foot or by taxi, it is far enough away from quiet society to really be able to crank up the volume. To get there follow Avenida. General Paz north across the bridge. Once you cross the river you are in disco city so take your pick from the multiple music types. One interesting option is 990 Arte Club (Bv. Los Andes 337) which has a variety of live music playing on the weekends but is most popular for its Acid Jazz jam session on Thursday nights. Zona Abasto is considered to be a pretty dangerous neighbourhood by many of the locals so consider taking a taxi there or more importantly away, especially after a few drinks.

I am always on the road, always trying to observe and always facinated with my surroundings. I love adventure and luck, both good and...
