Carmelite convent and the chapel of Santa Teresa
The Monasterio de las Carmelitas Descalzadas de Santa Teresa de Jesús are a set of buildings dedicated to St. Teresa located directly southwest of Plaza San Martín. However, because it is a working nunnery it is not entirely open to the public. The Iglesia Santa Teresa, located at Independencia 146, opens daily at 7:30 a.m. for visitors to view its Portuguese-designed architecture.
