Museo Histórico Provincial Marqués de Sobremonte was originally contructed in the 18th century to house Córdoba governor Rafael, Marqués de Sobremonte. The building’s exterior is comprised of thick walls magnified by an iron balcony that sits on wooden brackets. A pair of lions shaped from stone quarried from the sierras guard the entrance. The museum’s set of paintings of the Cusco School is its most impressive collection of art.
