El Camino De La Historia

El Camino de la Historia is an ancient tour that meanders through a wide array of natural and historical attractions. It encompasses several small towns that the Jesuits originally founded over a period of nearly 200 years, from 1599-1767, in an effort to bring cultural, economic and religious unity to the province of CĂłrdoba. The tour generally begins in the city of CĂłrdoba and moves through several historic localities, including Calera, JesĂșs MarĂa and Colonia Caroya. These towns give tourists a chance to see antiquated cultural practices they probably wouldn’t be able to see in a larger city, including horse taming in JesĂșs MarĂa and the making of wine and cheese in Colonia Caroya. The Camino also runs past several beautiful natural sites, including the crystalline Laguna AzĂșl and several pictograph-covered caves. Updated: Aug 30, 2010.
