As well as touring the Estancia Jesús Maria and Estancia de Caroya and sampling the fine local delicacies and wines, both Jesús Maria and Colonia Caroya have their own respective sports clubs. Jesús Maria has a variety of bars and restaurants. The beautiful natural setting of the estancias makes Jesús Maria an enjoyable destination for hikers and also of great interest to birdwatchers. As an area steeped in gaucho tradition, the numerous horse riding opportunities will appeal to any riding enthusiasts.
Fine neocolonial architecture can be found throughout Jesus Maria for example at the Capilla del Hospital Vicente Agüero and La Torre de los Céspedes, named after Spanish designer and resident Gabriel Céspedes. This small castle was built at the end of the 19th Century and was declared a part of the architectural and urban patrimony of Jesús Maria in 1995.
