At 1,141m, La Cumbre rests at the highest point of the Punilla Valley and is located 13km north of La Falda. It is an eye-catching town with ample opportunities to fish for trout in the streams that run down the mountainside. The mountains also serve as good hiking grounds. Tourist numbers rise during the usual vacation season in Argentina, especially Easter, but don't let that stop you from visiting.
Golf fans have to hit the ball around at the Golf Club La Cumbre--one of the best courses in the region. Adventurous souls can try their wings on for size with paragliding in Cuchi Corral. El Descanso, Complejo Aerosilla and Estancia El Rosario are more family friendly.
As far as accommodations go, camping at El Paso is an attractive choice for those with tents and sleeping bags. But upscale is the norm here so those with cash should head to Posada San Andrés or Gran Hotel La Cumbre.
The town has a few eating options, with La Casona del Toboso being the best choice. The place serves incredible trout so head here first. El Enkuentro serves fresh pasta dishes, while Dani Chef sells the pastries and cakes.
