Mina Clavero, at 915 meters (3,002 ft), is located in the mountain ranges of Achala and de Pocho, and enjoys a temperate climate. The nightlife is lively and the outdoor recreational activities are practically limitless, with tons of opportunities for hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding and fishing. The town has excellent pubs, clubs and a casino.
To explore the outdoors, start with Parque Nacional de la Quebrada del Condorito. A visit to Cascada de Toro Muerte should be on the itinerary, while Camino de los Artesanas makes for an interesting side trip. The hiking in and around town is some of the best in the region. There are plenty of accommodations around Mina Clavero, though they'll cost almost twice as much during the high season. There are a couple of noteworthy restaurants in town as well.
