Centro Artesanal San Martín De Porres - Market San Luis - Argentina

The rambling, ramshackle building that houses the Centro Artesanal San Martín was originally constructed in 1880. It was a textile factory before the market opened there in 1949. Every morning since that year, it has filled with artisans displaying their leather work, weaving and jewelry. Textiles are still the specialty, with many of the beautifully crafted fabrics for sale having been made on hand-operated looms. Try to get there before noon, when most of the sellers begin to clear out. The market is located on Calle 25 de Mayo.
