Quebrada del Condorito National Park

National Park

By Laura Granfortuna

Quebrada del Condorito National Park is a wildlife reserve outside the city dedicated to the protection of the Andean Condor – an enormous species of vulture that is facing extinction.

You can reach the park by car or by bus, but once you are inside it is a bit of a hike to get to the balcony of the condors, where you can observe condor nests and condors in flight. The hike is  approximately 5 miles each way at an altitude of 6,500 feet.  You should come prepared with food and water because these are not available past the main entrance.
