If you are in Corrientes for the end of January or the month of Febuary, definitely check out the Carnaval experience. It is getting bigger year after year and crowds of more than 80,000 people now flock to the event.
The Carnaval does not take place in the street like other Carnavales, but rather it is a massive competition that stretches throughout five or six weekends. Teams compete in dance, music and general festive energy to take home the championship at the end of the Carnaval season. The competitions are held in the Corsodromo “Nolo Alias.”
Tickets can be found on the corner of Calle Junín and San Juan in special “bolleterias” or at the Corsodromo itself. Tickets range from around $5 to $30, depending on seat quality.
