Crossing into Brazil

It is possible to cross into Brasil for the day without stopping at immigration, but this depends on your bus driver. Some will drive on through, others take the law to the letter and boot you off the bus at the border. Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and a long list of other countries will now need to buy a visa from the Brazilian consulate before venturing across the border, making it a costly day trip. Citizens of EU member states do not require a visa, check with the consulate before travel. Buses to Brazil's side of the falls leave regularly, with departures half hourly from 07.30am to 18.30pm. Make sure to tell the driver to stop at customs and take your bags as the driver may not wait. Just keep your ticket and catch the next bus that comes along.

Soaking up the sun on sandy shores across the globe is far more enjoyable than working. Currently enjoying exploring South America with my boyfriend...
