Crossing into Paraguay

Although less than 10km away, negotiating the borders of three countries can take the best part of a morning depending on your bus driver. Although it is possible to skip through the borders unchecked on a day trip to Ciudad del Este, anyone planning to spend time in either Brazil or Paraguay should take care to complete customs formalities. This involves stopping in Argentina, entry and exit in Brazil and entry in Ciudad del Este. The bus driver will not wait so take luggage with you, pack water for long waits and keep hold of your ticket. Day trippers can avoid a lot of hassle by booking a tour.
