Since the Pampas is a large geographical region containing a number of cities and towns, accommodations can be found to suit every taste and budget. Travelers watching their finances might be better off lodging in one of the slightly larger cities, such as Tandil or Mar del Plata, since rooms under $20 or so can be difficult to find in the region’s small towns. However, if you’re looking for more creature comforts and don’t mind paying $40-50 a night, you might want to check out some of older hotels in towns such as Santa Rosa, many of which feature beautiful architecture, private bathrooms, and complimentary breakfasts. There are also, of course, the ever-popular estancias, or ranches, scattered throughout the plains. These tend to be upwards from $100 a night, but you get a stay that often includes horseback riding trips, ultra-luxurious accommodations, and sumptuous home-cooked meals.
