Safety

When in Argentina, use the same common sense you would use in any other Latin American country. If you are traveling with a giant backpack don’t wander the streets looking for a hotel; pick something next to the bus station or grab a taxi to your destination. Avoid walking alone at night and most definitely don’t get hammered in a local cantina and stagger your way back to your hotel at night. Robberies usually don’t turn violent as long, but it is usually best not to resist a thief in case they have hidden weapons.

Traffic accidents are responsible for the majority of traveler related injuries and deaths in Argentina. Use extreme caution if renting a car, traffic signals are frequently ignored and Latin American drivers are notorious for passing on blind corners.

There are currently no travel advisories specific to San Antonio De Areco listed on the State Department website but travelers should check for updates before setting out.
