Hotel Acuario

Hotel

By Brian Hagenbuch

Hotel Acuario sits right at the bottom of the mountain and you can ski right into the ski check. Simple, comfortable rooms look out on an impressive panorama of the mountain and the service is efficient if not friendly. A bar upstairs is mostly used by locals to fill their thermos for mate, but drinks, beer and a limited menu make it nice as an after-ski stop. There is a small heated pool out front which is a great place to be during evening alpen glow. Most people get what they call the medio pension deal, which means the price includes breakfast and dinner. Breakfasts are a great spread of fruits, bread, juices, coffee, eggs, and just about anything you could want for breakfast. Dinners are set menus with a couple of different choices and if they aren’t great, they will fill the tank for another day of skiing the Las Leñas slopes.
