Safety

As a destination ski resort, Las Leñas is likely one of the safest locations in Argentina; however, mistakes do occur. Equipment mixups are not uncommon. Many first time snowboarders will grab the wrong gear and ride away. Most cases are resolved with the equipment being returned to the rightful owner, but it's a time consuming problem that should be avoided by watching your gear.

Another major safety concern is avalanches. Las Leñas is a big resort with some of the steepest lift-accessed terrain on the planet. Skiers venturing onto the Marte lift or into the backcountry should be aware of avalanches and carry the required shovel, probe, and transceiver in case disaster strikes.
