Getting To and Away

Malargüe sits 200 km southwest of San Rafael and daily buses (6 hours, $10), which run to and from Mendoza’s Capital via San Carlos, Tunuyan, and San Rafael, make reaching and departing the southern corner of Mendoza a rather simple if time consuming affair. Both Cata Internacional and Transporte Iselin make the trip four times daily, including an overnight service that will return travelers to Mendoza in time for the morning flight to Buenos Aires.

Andesmar offers a weekly service along Argentina’s Ruta 40 that reaches Malargüe via Chos Malal, Neuquén (12 hours, $15). The service heads north from Neuquén to Mendoza on Mondays and returns south on Thursdays.
