Getting Around

The small microcentro can be safely navigated on foot during the day, but random muggings should encourage visitors to stick to busier streets at night or grab a taxi. Cheap taxis can be flagged down on nearly every street corner, but some give tourists an unwanted scenic tour. More reliable remises can be called from any hotel or restaurant.

The $0.50 cost makes navigating the confusing bus network between Mendoza Capital and nearby Lujan de Cuyo, Maipú, Las Heras and Godoy Cruz worthwhile; however, passengers must carry either the exact change or purchase a rechargeable plastic card at any Kiosco with a Red Bus sign.
