The Vines of Mendoza

For those frustrated by Mendoza’s lack of wine tourism infrastructure, Vines of Mendoza is a refreshing alternative. Offering a wine bar where you can purchase flights of wine or wines by the glass (all regional, of course), this Tuscan-chic-themed vinoteca is a great way to enjoy the wines that made Mendoza famous. Two rooms are available for private tastings of reserve wine ($50-66 per person, reservations are recommended), and winemakers offer presentations about their winery and wines every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. (cost: $7, includes tastings of three or four wines). Less formal flights are available for $15 per person, and glasses of very large individual wines start at $5. If the prices seem steep, consider you also gain access to an extremely knowledgeable and bilingual staff, often for an hour or more if you opt for one of the flights (reserve or otherwise), and you likely will taste more wine for even less money than you would spend on one of the popular organized tours that visit two or three area wineries.

Traveler Reviews of The Vines of Mendoza

A must visit in Mendoza

This place is one of the highlights of Mendoza. I recommend getting one of the flights of wine. We received a couple of extra wines in addition to what you pay for, and the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
