Café Restaurant XL is a great place to drop in for a coffee or a quick snack. But this large, corner diner done in chic black, carnation red and silvery grey, is best known for its pizzas baked on a stone slab. These steaming-hot pies come in dozens of varieties, all generously topped. Most are for carnivores, although a few vegetarian options are available. Even though beer doesn’t sit iced in the cooler, the staff can quickly retrieve a bottle from elsewhere. Service is good and friendly. Open daily noon-midnight.
