Centrally located and well-established – La Esperanza has been in business since 1938 – this pleasant old posada is a favorite among young travelers in San Rafael. Just 3 blocks from the bus station, La Esperanza has a nice courtyard with flowering trees and plants and a number of clean, simple rooms that look out over the courtyard. There is a small dining room out front where food can be ordered or hotel staff can point you toward the restaurants. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about tourist activities.
