An affordable restaurant aimed toward families and tourists, Tienda del Sol tries for the finer dining-type experience, with tables topped with white and gold linens and a dining room decked out with all-around luxury appeal, though the management would do well to remedy tables with breadcrumbs on them and dirty window frames. Be the blemishes as they may, the food is done well, and 120 bottles of wine from area bodegas are priced low enough that it doesn’t make sense not to enjoy one with lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and willing to help with a wine selection, should you require it. Food choices include carnes, pizzas, salads and fish, with the brochette mixto ($4.75), a kebob-like preparation of steak, chicken, bacon and vegetables, among the tastier options. Plates range from $5-12. If you feel like sticking around your hostel, the restaurant also delivers. Credit cards accepted.
