Despite its growing population, San Rafael’s downtown area remains small and easy to navigate. Most services are located either on Hipolito Yrigoyen or within a few meters of its corner.
Banks and currency exchanges are found on Hipolito Yrigoyen, between Calles Nicolas Avellaneda and Gutierrez. The Banco de la Nacion (Hipolito Yrigoyen & Nicolas Avellaneda) and Banco Superville (Hipolito Yrigoyen 360) offer currency exchanges to non-clients along with the standard ATM service.
Internet cafés and telephone services are less frequent here than in most cities in Argentina, but two Telefonica Locotorios (Ballofet 13 & Hipolito Yrigoyen 332) offer access to both at affordable rates. The Correo Argentino office (San Lorenzo & Barcala) takes care of both western union and mail services.
Both the public Hospital T.J. Schestakow (Cte. Torres 150) and private Hospital Español (El Libertador 950) offer good health care but English speaking doctors will be hard to find. Farmacia Florida (Hipolito Yrigoyen 290) and Farmacia Gil Centro (Hipolito Yrigoyen 377) are well stocked.
